Review: In my opinion, these are some of the best kitchen knives in the world for the money. The first set I bought over 30 years ago and we are still using them. A little care proper technique in sharpening them will reward you with sharp knives that last a long time. I have used knives that cost a lot more money than these Chicago Cutlery knives but I always come back to my old, dependable Chicago Cutlery. We cook from "scratch" and this includes buying big pieces of meat and then processing this into meal size portions. We grind our own hamburger meat and port sausage so our knives get a lot of heavy use.

Review: I bought this set for my grandmother because it has a traditional look to it. She absolutely loves it! The knives are nice and sharp. Like other knives, these knives should not be put in the dishwasher. It will cause the wood to dry out and crack, and it can cause rusting. Knives should always be washed by hand, and these are no exception.

Review: I put a lot of thought into buying a new knife set. I read reviews on this website and several others, and finally settled on Chicago Cutlery because of the following reasons, first, my past experience with all the cheap knives I already have used over the years compared to a 17 year old Chicago Cutlery Chefs knife I got as a present when I got married; the various reviews on German made knives and their prohibitive price tags compared to the reviews on this particular set and it's price tag. I have not been dissapointed since they arrived, I have used several of them each and every day and they are great. They all arrived razor sharp. It is not that big a problem to wash them by hand, as long as I remember they are in the bottom of the sink and don't cut my finger picking them up! (three bandaids on my right hand at this moment). The only thing I wish the set had was a Santuko knife, but I am watching for a great deal. I would reccomend them to anyone who wants a knife set that WORKS at a decent price.

Review: Chicago Cutlery walnut ten piece tradition. Excellent knives, but the storage block is not the one illustrated. I received a storage block in which the knives must be stored perpendicular to the base, and since the storage block is necessicarily located under an overhead cupboard, the knife storage block must be moved out from under the cupboard in order to remove the knives. I would have preferred the slanted block that is illustrated on your web site. Excellent knives. very sharp, and they hold an edge well. I simply wish that I had received the storage block illustrated in the catalogue.
