Ingredients for English-Style Cheese Strata Recipe
1-1/2 lb White bread loaf; no crust
2 lb Grated cheddar cheese
10 Beaten eggs
4 c Milk
1 ts Dry mustard
1 ts Salt
1 ts White pepper
2 ts Worcestershire sauce
English-Style Cheese Strata Preparation
Recipe by: San Diego Union-Tribune Dice bread and mix with cheese. Set aside. Mix eggs, milk and seasonings; add to bread and cheese mixture and mix well. Let stand 1/2 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour mixture into a 9-by-13-inch baking pan set in a larger pan of hot water. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until brown and puffy. 8 servings. JM.
