Ingredients for Gingerbread Cake Recipe

1 c All-purpose flour
1/2 c Whole wheat flour (don t

1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Ground ginger
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Non-fat buttermilk
1/2 c Applesauce
1/2 c Molasses
2 Egg whites
Powdered sugar for dusting

Gingerbread Cake Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat 8×2x2 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine flours, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder and baking soda. In a small bowl, combine buttermilk, applesauce, molasses and egg whites; add to flour mixture. Beat until combined. Pour into baking pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes.
