Handmade in single batches, cooked and stirred by hand in copper kettles, these brittles are the real deal. Made with pure butter, you couldn't find anything fresher. Brittles bursting with select nuts are another Ultimate specialty. To make these crunchy candies we combine generous portions of butter, and large whole nuts. Small batches are then cooked to give you that home-made flavor. Peanut Brittle - Jumbo Virginia Redskin peanuts are perfectly roasted for maximum flavor. Then, they're specially encased in a deliciously sweet, buttery brittle for the best in both taste and crunchy texture. Review: This review is for the 2 pound Tin of Ultimate's hand-made peanut brittle. I give it 3.5 Stars out of 5. The product is thick (not like the wafer-thin, greasy branded grocery store stuff), seems made of quality ingredients and tastes pretty good (not great, but above average). I realize commodity costs are soaring and hand-made products deserve a premium, but at almost 30 bucks for 2 pounds (product + shipping/handling), it's not "Wow!" tasty enough to justify buying again. I would, maybe now and then, buy it again if I could find it in a local grocer and save the large shipping/handling fee.
