Ted Dennard followed the honey bees from his boyhood home in coastal Georgia, across the country and around the world. Ironically, the search for the world's best honey brought him back home where the tupelo and sourwood trees thrive and produce blue ribbon honeys known across the world.

Ted's enterprise, The Savannah Bee Company, brings a little bit of its honey to market in its pure and natural state. They don't filter, heat, or add anything to their honey. They go to great efforts to move colonies of bees to very remote sites in order to gather Georgia's best honeys. They chase the spring flowers and their nectar flow from location to location. April takes them to the deep swamps for Tupelo honey. In May, they take them to the coastal forests for Gallberry and Palmetto honeys. And in June, they haul the hives up into the NorthGeorgia Mountains to get Sourwood honey.

We could not resist their 4 in. x 4 in. square of sealed honeycomb. Absolutely beautiful and pure, it is delicious on its own with the wax. Enjoy with biscuits, bread, hot sweet potatoes, and crackers. Serve with your favorite cheeses. The honeycomb makes a lovely cheese plate presentation at any party.

Review: My son-in-law just loves honey. He has been buying this brand through-the-mail honey. He asked me for it for Christmas as a gift. It seemed a bit pricey for honey, but he says it is well worth it.

One of the things he likes is that it comes with was honey combs so you can chew as well.
