Ingredients for Half Ways Recipe

3/4 c Shortening
4-1/2 c Sugar
1-1/2 c Brown sugar, divided
2 Eggs, separated
1/4 ts Baking soda, in 1 tablespoon
1 ts Vanilla
2 c Flour
1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Peanut butter
6 oz Chocolate chips

Half Ways Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix shortening, sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, egg yolks, baking soda, vanilla, flour, salt, and peanut butter until it forms a stiff dough. Pat into the bottom of a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Spread chocolate chips over the dough. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then add 1 cup of brown sugar and beat well.
