Review Summary: Avoid this chopper
Review: This chopper lasted just over a month before the blade came apart and cracked the base. I called and emailed Cuisinart for replacement. They just ignored me. Don't waste your money.

Review Summary: Indispensable
Review: I bought this as a replacement for one that finally died after many years of service. I use it primarily for chopping shallots. It's also good for chopping nuts for cookies, either finely or coarsely. Any small job such as these it does in a flash without having to deal with knives or cutting boards. Unlike my old one, this one has a reversible blade assembly that has both sharp and blunt edges.

Review Summary: Not Very Durable
Review: I bought my first one of these about 10 years ago and used it several times a week, mainly for mincing shallots or herbs. I found it did a fine job on these items, mincing them into fairly uniform, tiny pieces. Contrary to what many other reviewers experienced, I found it very easy to clean. About two years ago, the blade shaft broke in half, rendering it unusable. I did some research and found that it would cost me more to buy a replacement part than to buy an entirely new unit. Which is what I did--and today the blade assembly broke in half on the second one, after only two years of service! Probably needless to say, I will not be buying a third one! I'm very disappointed in Cuisinart, although I've enjoyed my full-size DLC-11 for at least 15 years.

Review Summary: Flimsy, poorly engineered, and not good at chopping or grinding
Review: I got this as a freebie with my Cuisinart food processor, and because it was free it gets a star. If I had bought this little useless contraption, I would outright fail it.
Here's a quick list of it's flaws:
1. Hard to clean
2. Hard to control. You're always one pulse away from turning chopped into paste.
3. Grinds coffee inconsistently, leaving a mixture of fine powder with big chunks.
4. Unable to grind most spices beyond course grit.
5. Low and High setting seem to really mean "vibrate lots" or "vibrate everything on the counter."
6. Very counterintuitive design. Filling the bottom with whatever you happen to be grinding makes it difficult to put the blade on it's plastic node thingy.
7. Cheaply constructed. Aformentioned plastic node thingy the blade slides on stripped with proper use. Plastic container got a fracture the bottom within weeks and scarred easily from grinding. White top stains easily.
8. Loud.
Positives:
1. Free
Do not buy this. Get it for free with a rebate and use it until you have enough saved for a proper grinder.

Review Summary: Smears Cuisinart name
Review: The first one I owned stopped working within a few months. I thought it was my fault for overloading it. The second one broke with no apparent abuse on my part. DO NOT BUY THIS!
