Editorial Review of West Bend 86628 Automatic Egg Cooker
Hard-cooked, soft-cooked, poached, how do you like your eggs? No more worrying about "green" yolks, or raw eggs, or tinkering with boiling water and slotted spoons. This handy little machine makes cooking your eggs as easy as pushing a button. You will get superior results, with far less effort, each and every time. Now where's that recipe for Hollandaise sauce, oh yeah, it's in the recipe booklet.

Review Summary: Daily use
Review: Since receiving the Egg Poacher I have used it every day. It is easy to use and does what I expect of it.
I tried to buy one locally in our stores and no one had one.

Review Summary: Very pleased
Review: I have had 2 previous egg cookers, both different manufacturers. I liked the first one, but the plastic eggholder broke and the part was no longer available. The second one I didn't have very long before the non-stick coating on the bottom curled and flaked off. I researched through the reviews posted with each brand of cooker, and picked the Westbend model. I am so pleased with this device; it's easy to operate, it cleans up easily (though there's hardly anything to clean up after the cooking's done), and it seems substantial. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with this cooker. The only thing I miss is an auto shut-off, but I'm doing fine without it. Soft boiled and hard boiled eggs cook perfectly using the easy to read measurer, but don't know about poached.
I'm glad I took the time to research and read all the reviews!

Review: I just bought this and although I don't do poached or soft boiled eggs, the hard boiled eggs come out perfectly! I am glad I bought this!

Review Summary: West Bend? Never again!
Review: I cook poached eggs a lot for breakfast, so when my trusty Sunbeam poacher got all corroded from years of use, I replaced it with the West Bend. First, the West Bend has a loud obnoxious buzzer to indicate when the eggs are done, it's so loud that in jangles the nerves, not the ideal way to start the day. Then, after only about a month of use, the timer started malfunctioning, going off when the eggs were still raw, and turning itself off even when there was still water in the unit. After having several breakfasts ruined by this unreliable appliance, I decided to order a new Oster. I wish I had never thrown away my funky old Sunbeam, at least it was reliable and built like a tank. This West Bend unit is all glossy, cheap plastic, but is totally unreliable. They should call it West Bend-over!

Review Summary: Eggzaperating
Review: This is a joke. Doesn't cook eggs in any usable way. I followed directions to the letter and was disappointed with the performance. It's too expensive to use for a door stop!
