Ingredients for Krunchy Karmel Korn Snack Mix Recipe
6 c Puffed popcorn curls -OR-
– popped popcorn
2 c Mini pretzel twists
1/2 c Salted peanuts
1 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
1/2 c Margarine or butter
1/4 c Light corn syrup
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 ts Vanilla
1 c Any combination of:
– spiced gumdrop candy
– M&M s, gummi bears,
– malted milk balls,
– licorice snaps
Krunchy Karmel Korn Snack Mix Preparation
Heat oven to 250~. Line jelly-roll pan with foil. In foil lined pan, combine popcorn, pretzels and peanuts. In medium saucepan, combine sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over popcorn mixture in pan; toss to coat. Bake at 250~ for 30 minutes, stirring twice during baking. Immediately remove from pan onto new piece of foil. Cool completely, breaking mixture into pieces as it cools. Toss with candies.
