Ingredients for May s Date Nut Bars Recipe
1 c Flour; sifted
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Butter
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla extract
1 pk (11 oz) dates; cut up
1 c Nuts
May s Date Nut Bars Preparation
Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Cream butter; add sugar gradually and cream well. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Add vanilla. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and beat well. Fold in dates and nuts. Spread evenly in a 6×10 pan. Bake 30 minutes in a 375 degree oven. When cool, sprinkle with sugar.
